Winter Break Camps

Our winter break camps will be held at the Tom Chater Park Clubhouse which is located at 3195 The Collegeway. (Between Winston Churchill Blvd. & Colonial Dr.)

This camp will be geared for kids aged 4 to 12 years old.  

 

Camp Dates

Camps will run on the following dates:

Monday, Dec. 31, 2018

Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019

Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 – Outing 

Friday, Jan. 4, 2019

Camps will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with extended hours from 7:30 am to 9:00 am and again from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

 

There will be an outing to GlowZone 360 Mississauga (Glow in the Dark Mini Golf & Arcade) on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019. 

A pizza & juice lunch is included on Friday, January 4, 2019 for all campers.

 

Camp Costs

  • Full Week (4 Days) is $200 plus tax (10% Discount on 2nd & 3rd child)
  • Single day is $53 plus tax (Thurs. is $62 plus tax – The Putting Edge Outing (Glow in the Dark Mini Golf)) 

Extended hours are $4 per child for the morning portion and $4 per child for the afternoon portion. 

 

Camp 1. Winter Fun – Cooking & Crafts (Ages 4 to 7) (Ages 8 to 12)

Each day campers will prepare and cook their lunch by learning to follow a recipe and how to measure and mix ingredients. They will also learn about the different tools used in the kitchen. On Fr1day they will bake a snack as we order pizza for lunch that day. Campers should bring a lunch on Thursday as we are away on a field trip that day.

Monday – Grilled Panini Sandwich & Salad in a Bag

Wednesday – Chicken Taco Casserole

Thursday – Kids need to bring a lunch

Friday – Pizza day so we will bake something for afternoon snack

 

Kids will also explore a variety of crafts each day including ceramic painting, t-shirt design & painting, clay building and winter themed crafts. 

 

Camp 2. Lego Robotics & Junior Paleontologists (Ages 5 to 8)  

Campers will build various Lego models including a robotic dinosaur that can be programmed to move and make sounds using tablets and blue tooth technology.

Young paleontologists will learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Kids will make dinosaur fossils, paint a ceramic dinosaur, build a volcano and go on a dinosaur dig.

 

Camp 3. Lego Robotics & Scratch Coding (Ages 9 to 13)

Campers will build more complex robots using the Lego Mindstorms EV3 and will learn to program the robots thru various challenges. Using the Scratch programming platform they will learn and create fun computer games.
