Camp Descriptions

All About STEM (Ages 4 to 7) (Ages 6 to 10)

What is STEM? STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM is everywhere today and in everything we do. It builds and teaches creativity, problem solving, life skills, ingenuity, resourcefulness, patience and curiosity. STEM is what shapes the future as our world grows and changes.

Ages 4 to 7 – For this age group, some of the projects include making a kaleidoscope, creating & launching a straw rocket, making a catapult and building a paddle boat that floats. Kids will also be introduced to coding using robots and coding apps. Kids will learn basic programming skills including sequencing, loops, events, conditionals, booleans and variables.

Ages 5 to 10 – In this group, kids will be introduced to many STEM concepts thru hands on projects and 21st century skills such as programming, critical thinking and problem solving. Some hands on projects include making  a homemade motorized robot, a solar oven that will cook s’mores and awesome science experiments such as making hot ice and elephant toothpaste. Kids will learn the fundamentals of computer programming by creating their own games.

Ceramics, Clay & Crafts  (Ages 4 to 7) (Ages 8 to 13)

Campers will paint beautiful ceramics pieces, hand build clay structures and create a variety of crafts such as t-shirt painting, pearler bead designs, polymer clay, clay pot crafts, soap making, wood crafts & more.

Creative Chefs (AM) & Crafts (PM) (Ages 4 to 7) (Ages 8 to 13)

Campers will learn the basics of preparing meals & desserts. They will make their lunch on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and bake a snack on Friday. Cooking will be done in the morning and crafts in the afternoon.

Junior Paleontologists (Ages 5 to 8)

Young paleontologists will learn about a variety of dinosaurs and their habitats. Kids will make dinosaur fossils, paint a ceramic dinosaur, build a volcano and go on a dinosaur dig.

Science (Ages 5 to 8)

Kids will also explore the world of science by conducting hands on experiments and building simple machines such as catapults &  parachutes.

Baking & Cake Decorating/Crafts (Ages 6 to 13)

In this camp bakers will learn about measuring & mixing to create yummy treats and will learn basic decorating techniques including pipping & using fondant. Crafts will also be included as part of this camp.

Clay Creations (Ages 5 to 12)

Campers will learn all about the hand building techniques such as coil, pinch and slab to produce awesome clay pieces that will be glazed and fired in our kiln for a professional finish. Older kids (7 & up) will be introduced to clay throwing on the wheel. Clay pieces will need to be picked up 3 weeks after each camp.

Lego Robotics (Ages 5 to 8)

We offer multiple themes so that Lego enthusiasts have new projects each week. Models include motors and sensors that can then be programmed to move and make sounds using simple drag & drop block technology.

Science Theme: Kids will engage in learning experiences that make science come to life. Some of the topics/models include a science rover, robust structures (earthquake), a frog’s metamorphosis, plants & pollinators, drop & rescue helicopter and flooding prevention (dam).

City Bots Theme: Engineers of the future will build robots that lead to the growth of our cities. Models include building a crane, a monorail, a lift, a motorcycle, a helicopter, a race car, auto show cars, trucks and even an x-wing starfighter.

Dino Park Theme: Kids will take a journey into the prehistoric world of din0saurs. Models include a stegosaurus, a triceratop, a pteranodon, a t-rex and many more.

Forensic Science (Ages 7 to 12)

Kids will become detectives and use forensic science to answer questions, gather evidence and solve crimes! They will learn how to gather and process fingerprints, footprints, tire tracks, DNA, soil samples, hair and fibers samples. They will use these new skills to solve several crimes including the case of the kidnapped cookies!
